Joseph Pilates was born in Monchengladbach, Germany in 1881. As a sickly child, he suffered from maladies that included asthma, rickets, and rheumatic fever. In an effort to improve his health as a youth, he turned to physical training and pursued gymnastics, diving, skiing, and bodybuilding; he also engaged in pugilist boxing. eve gentry

Eve Gentry’s early training was in ballet and Spanish dance. In 1929 she left her parents’ home in Southern California to pursue her dance passion. Her first exposure to modern dance was in San Francisco with Ann Munstock. Later, in New York City, she studied with Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey, Helen Tamiris, and at Ballet Arts and the Joffrey Ballet. michele larsson

Michele Larsson was the Founder of Core Dynamics Pilates. She has over 45 years of experience teaching fitness, movement, dance and rehabilitation. She attended the prestigious Julliard School of Music in NY and received her degree in Holistic Health and Dance Theatre from Antioch College. read more >>
